About Software Engineering Programs
One place to compare software engineering degrees, using each school’s own published information and federal data rather than reputation surveys.
What this site is
Software Engineering Programs compares bachelor’s and master’s degrees in software engineering across the United States, on campus and online. Tuition, credit counts and accreditation are read from each school’s own pages and from ABET’s list of accredited programs, and pay figures come from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Every figure carries the date it was checked.
How we rank
Each ranking comes from a published formula that scores programs on published figures: completion, net price, ABET accreditation and program size for bachelor’s degrees, and tuition, program size, research activity and ABET status for master’s, with a fixed number of points for each. A school cannot pay to move up, and the full scoring is in the methodology page.

Kevin To graduated from Temple University in 2025 with a B.S. in Computer Science and works as a web developer at Savo Group. He has always been into technology, and away from work he plays video games and follows sports and sports analytics.
When he was choosing a college, he didn’t know how to tell which programs fit what he wanted to explore. He started Software Engineering Programs to help prospective students find the program that fits them.
Software Engineering Programs is the result. Kevin researches and writes the site’s content, drawing on each school’s own published pages and on public data from ABET, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and O*NET. He also designed and built the site itself, from the ranking methodology to the front-end code.
The site is published by Savo Group, a digital marketing agency specializing in organic SEO and web design.
Advertising disclosure
Software Engineering Programs is not affiliated with any school it ranks. It may carry advertising or paid program links in the future; here is what that does and does not change.
- [01]
The rankings are editorial
Compensation does not affect the formula, the weights, the scores or the order in which programs appear. A school cannot pay to move up or to be left out.
- [02]
Paid placements would be labeled
The site carries no sponsored listings or paid program links today. If it does, they will be marked and kept apart from the ranked lists, and if we are paid when a reader enrolls through one, that will not change what the reader pays.

Career and salary pages carry no commercial relationship
The career guides and salary pages are written for information only. Their figures come from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and O*NET and are reported the same way regardless of any partnership.
